  • Why Run My Own Store?

Institutionally operated stores

IA and EA is making things simpler for everyone

Inclusive Access and Equitable Access are simplifying course materials, lowering pricing to students/parents and making college more accessible for all students.  Contact us for more information on how you can eliminate the middleman, lower costs and create a more efficient experience for your community.

Take Back Control

Set your own hours of operation.  Use Auxiliaries and your store to promote registration.  Attend, sell and promote at on campus and off campus events with Student Life. Fayetteville Tech Bookstore attends home baseball games and many student life events across campus.  Use auxiliaries and your store to be innovative and better serve your community.

Partner with Community

Support business in and around your college by BUYING LOCAL.  Buy Local and support the tax payers and community that supports your college.  Connect with parents and students by selling from local apparel, gift and food vendors.  Some stores produce their own screen printing and graphic designs in partnership with clubs and events on campus.

Student Engagement

Shows the Coffee Bar at the Bookstore.

Does your new student and faculty orientation end at the Campus Store.  Does your bookstore partner with eLearning or your Center for Academic Engagement to improve student onboarding? Do you survey your students on the bookstore and auxiliary services?

Own YOUR Brand

A promotional booth with snacks and merchandise against a brick wall.

No body knows your brand and market like you!  The roads of NC are strewn with outsourced bookstores contracts that resulted in poor service, higher pricing, and frustrated students.

Support other Auxiliaries

Campus store staff often act as the hub for auxiliaries by managing other areas such as food services/trucks, Cashier office, campus printing, vending services, mail rooms, student I.D.'s and can help relieve budget dollars in these areas while supporting these important auxiliaries.

Pickup lockers shown at GTCC

Use your Bookstore and Auxiliaries to meet and serve students where it helps them.  Some schools have remote campuses and use locker pickups to make ordering more convenient, and they also allow the college to distribute packages internally from Shipping and Receiving.
